Häromdagen hade jag mailkontakt med Michael Fertig, VD och grundare av reputation.com, baserat i Kalifornien och som fått utmärkelser för sitt arbete med reputation management. Han skriver att: “The number one major risk to a company is not financial risk or catastrophic risk, but reputation risk”.
75 procent av värdet i ett företag är bundet till dess rykte. Han skriver också att det kostar 20 gånger mer att lösa en kris än att förebygga de problem som skapade krisen ursprungligen.
Men ett företag kan inte ha ett rykte i sig, istället skapas det av individerna – ledarna och de anställda. Deras rykte bestämmer vem kunderna kommer att lyssna på, lita på och välja. Ditt professionella rykte som ledare eller anställd kommer att avgöra företagets rykte och därmed också dess framgång. Enligt Michael Fertik och det internationella PR-företaget Kreab, Gavin & Anderson blir reputation på individnivå helt avgörande kommande år. “Return of investment” blir här gigantiskt. Ditt professionella rykte byggs under många år, men det kan förstöras på några veckor.
